Color Restriction in Citrix Metaframe

We installed Windows 2000 Server with Citrix Metaframe (ver 1.8).  The maximum number of colors we can configure is 256.  We have an Engineering application that will run on Citrix that requires more than 256 colors.  The video card isn't the problem as it is a 64 MB AGP.  Is there a specific feature or setting I am missing.
