FTP Authentication

I am trying to gain access to the ftp server from uutside the local LAN. I am using SBS Server 2003 and I can access FTP internally but not externally I get a message that says: invalid user ID. What could the problem be?

IIS maybe configured to block IPs outside of the current subnet (or something similar).  You might also need to specify the username in "domain\user" format.
