I am trying to install a LaserJet 6P onto a Windows XP computer.  After I download the new driver and attempt to install it I get an error message stating that the driver needs to be updated.  When I examine the drivers available on my print server, no XP driver is found.  The closest driver is for Win2000.  Is there a generic driver for this printer?
The printer was installed on this computer before but now I can't get it to install.  Help!

What is this 'print server' you are talking about? Is it a small box you plug your printer into and then you plug the box into the network? Cause if so the HP printer might not be compaitble with the box. Let me know what kind of print server you are talking about. Thanks
