Advanced GUI Development with VB

Hello all,

I am trying to learn some advanced gui techniques with Visual Basic (more specifically VB6).  I like the look of programs like Ad-Aware and SmartBarXP (Which is developed entirely in VB).

How can I acheive the look of these programs using VB?  Is this accomplished with ActiveX Controls, User Controls, Picture Boxes, Image Controls, etc.

Are there any websites/documents devoted to this material?

Thanks in advance for any help.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Jaime,

Thank you for the quick response.  I have already come across this product in my browsing travels.  I guess I maybe should have been alittle more specific in my question.

I would like to achieve this possibly without using any third party controls.  Any other insight/suggestions?

Thanks

For skin ActiveSkin is the best.
For buttons look at Arcadia Buttons
For grids and advanced controls: Infragistics and ComponentOne
XP looks: OsenXPSuite

Google will give you websites for all the above.
