VPN 3

OK I am now connected to the company server, and I can surf the internet at the same time. So everything is cool, right? NO way. No big deal but what I am seeing is that I have to map to the vpn server everytime I log in. If I leave the box "Reconnect at Login" checked, it doesnt work. I have to disconect the drive and then do another map. I s there a way around this , or do I have to live with it?

What type of VPN connection are you using?

PPTP
When you are not connected, does the drive appear on my computer with a red x in my comptuer under network drives?

Mine are setup like that, where they are red x'd when I'm not logged into the vpn, but when I connect in the mapped drives work then - but they are always there.

What OS are you using?

I am using XP for the client. The drives are NOT red X'd when I disconnect, but they do say they are disconnected. When I start the vpn again, they still are disconnected, but when I go to map the to the same letter I get an error that they are being used. I can map the to a different letter. I f the client is hard wire connected I will get the red X's. I have even unchecked to reconnect at login, but the drive is still there

I got it. I was in too big of a hurry to reconnect. If I wait for about 30 seconds after I connect I can access the server partition again. Thanks
