"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Assuming that you are using BCB...
Check out online help for FindFirst(..) .
It is under file management utilities.
With FindFirst you can locate the first occurence of a file matching the criteria you want (*.txt) in your case...
From the structure TSerchRec you can get the ansistring contains the filename.
After you obtain with those the filename in an AnsiString you can use:
DeleteFile(AnsiString Filename) to delete.
