I have a PowerEdge 400SC with SBS 2003 installed and AD is setup. Can anyone tell me what server OS will/will not function as a BDC (i'm aware that SBS 2003 has no true BDC support/wizard) without removing SBS 2003 from the PowerEdge?

eg. SBS 2003+SBS 2003 or SBS 2003+SERVER 2003 OR SBS 2003+SERVER 2000?

    Accepted Solution

Windows 2003 server can be installed as a addtional domain controller in a SBS 2003 domain.

There is no PDC BDC as thses were left back in NT4.

This will provide you with redundecy of you AD information and let you install your AV server and backup solution to a DC that is not your SBS server.  You can not however move any of the SBS products off to the new server.  IE: exchange, sql, ISA
