Intel D845wn motherboard bios password after crash

Today I moved to my new office and reconnected my machine. It would not boot saying boot device failure: system halted.

Then I rebooted and when i needed to get into the BIOS, it kept asking for a password. I am the IT support at our company and for sure there is no password. IS there a default password?

I haven't tried resetting the cmos battery (before the problem it said CMos battery low). Will do so tomorrow and check all the cables +jumpers again.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

All the symptoms point to a CMOS battery problem.  The disk geometry is saved in the CMOS, and passwords are saved in the CMOS.  When the battery gets low, spurious values can end up in there, causing the symptoms you describe.  Replace the battery, and you should be ok - Radio Shack should sell them.

Can I take the battery from another pc?
Yes, they are interchangeable, and a new one costs about $3 or less.
