"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can quite easily.
You will need to run the forest prep and domain prep tools for Exchange 2003. This will turn the Exchange org in to a Exchange 2003 Mixed org. Once that has been done (and enough time allowed for replication), you can install Exchange 2003 and it will join the existing Exchange org automatically.
Then all you need to do is configure replication of some public and system folders and you are ready to move or create mailboxes.
