Asus p5gd2 premium motherboard Power socket - using a 20 pin cord with a 24 pin socket

is this possible.

Just a bit dissapointed when i got the psu from the supplier and didnt realise that 24 pin was
the new thing ! eek !

the 20 pin does plug into the socket on the mobo just 4 pins are left unplugged at the left hand

advice would be welcome
