"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Calv1n,
Yes, there are many programs, including activesync, that will allow this. You want to check the website of your handheld to make sure you have the latest version of it's sync program. Which handheld are you using?

Check http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/default.mspx. My provider (verizon) has a wirelesspc program that works only if I upgrade to Pocketpc 2002
Best of luck

Hi Cal,
Yes,d epending on your carrier, there may be a way. For example, with Verizon I can sync remotely from anywhere withour an exchange server: (see below)

Out of the office, but not out of touch with Wireless Sync

Wireless Sync from Verizon Wireless now features always on, "push" email technology so you can receive emails and real time calendar updates automatically.

Stay connected while you're out of the office by sending and receiving emails
Sync your POP3 and IMAP email accounts with your wireless device
Receive automatic updates of your calendar and contact information
The New Wireless Sync is now available with the new TreoTM 600 as well as the Samsung i6001, Samsung i7001 and Kyocera 71352 devices
Good luck

It's not exactly what you wanted, but it might help. You can use this program to synchronize Outlook: http://www.easy2sync.com/en/produkte/e2s4o.php

However, it won't synchronize over the internet directly (only with VPN) and it synchronizes only Outlook to Outlook (or Exchange). Perhaps it helps anyway.
