Can I create Stateful Webservice on WebSphere App Serv?

I have to maintain state with the client. My client is VB6 that call this web service. Could I create statefule webservice?

Any help would be appreciate.

    u can use application scope (the ServletContext.getAttribute() and setAttribute), and on the first response return a custome id for the VB client to inqury with it
