cd writer blew

I had a hpcd writer 9100i, it blew. I had cd's that I did not close as I was adding to them over time.  What can I buy (even used if I have to) that will read these cd's that are not closed.

in my opinion, any cd writer will read them with a good burner program like Nero

Try Alchol 120%.  You can use a regular CD-ROM and mount the image from the CD to a virtual drive.  I sounds difficult, but it's actual pretty easy.  The help section on the program is great.

Depends on the packet-writing method* that you used to write those CDs. If you just did everything standard, you should be able to burn-close those CDs with any combination of burner program & CD burner; preferably using the exactly the same burner program though ...

If you're kinda advanced, just try remember your settings (methods you used) on each CDs, and use the same packet-writing method to burn-close the CDs, should not be a problem.

*) packet-writing methods for example: TAO, SAO, DAO, etc.
