Exchange 2003 IMF (Cluster Environment)

I read in the IMF whitepaper that IMF is not supported in an exchange 2003 clustered environment.  Does anyone know why this is or if there is a workaround for this?

Any help is appreciated.

    Accepted Solution

    I don't know any Technical Reason ...
But this is how I put:

    1. IMF is not cluster Aware (something similar to Foreign Connectors)
    2. Ideally, you would configure IMF on Front End. And Front Ends are not Clustered. If you have one non-clustered exchange server, you can deploy IMF on there. But if you have Clustered Environment without FE ... you'll have to come out with FE.
