Toner and Drum

Feel embarrassed asking this one but I need to know so what the hell

I was about to buy a brother HL5150D and the accessories says 6700 yield toner for £48.99 or 20,000 yield drum for £89.99

Question is would it need both toner and drum, or is drum an alternative to toner ?

thanks

Hi plq,

It'll need both, but with the printer the drum and one cartridge of toner will be included. As long as you don't use crappy paper you won't need to replace the drum ever (which is the part that presses the toner on the paper) but the toner cardridge will have to be replaced once in a while, like it's also normal to replace the ink cardridge on a inktjet printer when it's empty.

Thanks LucF

I thought so but just the way it was worded sounded like drum was a substitute for toner.
