Scripts in Win2000 and I.E. 6.0
I'm getting a lot of messages that say things like "scripts are usually safe. Do you want to allow scripts to run?" Huh? I have to bat these out of the way a LOT.
I also get these off certain e-mail messages in Outlook Express.
Drivin' me nuts!
Where do I go to stop this. What's wrong with "scripts" and exactly what is it about?
Thank you.

Hi, I didn't realize there was a new question (lost my inbox for a bit). I have my settings as shown. Now I'll see what happens. I'll leave this open for a bit to see. I did get a script error message in my e-mail tonight (when someone sends a website page this happens sometimes).
This website was throwing 1-2 script errors. I haven't seen them in a bit, but losing the e-mails may have been part of the reason. I'll look when this is answered.
Thanks so much.

no problem, and its not always necessary that when u get soem scripts error, the problem is with ur browser, coz if the website has been encoded in wrong way,,, it can throw these errors.... i myself get these errors when i visit such sites :)
so make good sure before considering ur browser as Devil ;-)

Okay. :) Sometimes it's a devil!! I believe it.
Some in Outlook Express but generated by I.E. 6:
Line: 2
Char. 8
Error: Invalid character
Code: 0
URL: mhtmt.mid//00000034/
I can say "yes" or "no" and it doesn't affect anything. That one looks like a midi file. ???
Same one right behind it but "line 32" and then "Object expected"
I see that the ones I saved all have extensions of *.mid. I just get mad at having to click and click to bat this junk out of my face to see my e-mail or some website!
Think I can just let it go? Let me know.
Hey, I wish you had a nickname! LOL!!! I wouldn't venture to pronounce it, and it's a LONG name to type in. WOW!!!
Thanks again.

Shehar, I ran it yesterday or the night before. It took a while. I got a script error from one email after I ran it. (I did reboot!). ;)
Maybe the errors will be less. Time will tell.
Should I close this out? You've been so very helpful.

Okay. I'm going to close. I found ONE "disable" I had not done in I.E. options so maybe the scripts will truly stop.
Thanks for your hard work on this! I will come and open again if it becomes a problem. Maybe I'll just do another month as I have several bugs here and there that I've been collecting. ;) That means at least past the first week in December.
