I am making a program that will "capture" the desktop and recreate the captured desktop from a file.  This file must contain each Icon's name, the location of where it points to, and it's position on the desktop.  I also need a function to create those icons (as well as delete the old ones) in the specified positions with the name and location.  By icons i am refering to shortcuts.

Thanks!

You need to deal with interprocess memory communication
See my sample at http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.Asp?ID=3290
