Just curious with officescan....because i thought officescan offers no protection for network, but depend on another product, the serverprotect to do the job. Officescan thought just to protect the clients pc? Anyone who is using the officescan 6.5 maybe can explain? Thanks !

    Accepted Solution

Officescan 6.5 is for client side anti-virus protection. Server Protect is for Server side protection. The only time this is not held true is on the server in which you physically install Officescan 6.5 TO.
If that server does not already have Server Protect normal server installed then the OFS 6.5 installer will ask if you'd lie to install the OFS client ON THE SERVER.

It is a way to protect a server that is running Officescan when maybe the client doesn't have or can't afford to install ServerProtet for that one server.
