ASUS P4P800 problem with winxp sp2?????

Hi,

I have a motherboard ASUS P4P800 and installing winxp home works fine.
But after installing service pack 2 windows hangs while booting and showing the graphic windows screen.
Restarting in safe mode doesn't work.
Is there a problem with this MB?
Changing hard disk and/or memory doesn't solve the problem

Is there still hard disk activity?  WinXP takes three reboots before the optimizer kicks in, and until it does, booting is slow.

If the WinXP Home install worked but the SP2 didn't, Microsoft says you need to make sure your drivers are up to date.  Reinstall WinXP Home clean, and then look for updates to your motherboard and other peripherals.  Only after you have done the updates to the drivers should you try SP2.
