Hi, I have no experience in setting up a proxy server. Could anyone give me some information on how to setting up a pc running XP Pro as a proxy server, so that other pc in the network can go out to internet via that proxy server?

Any tools or software needed?

Thanks a lot. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Why can't you use the Internet Connection Sharing in XP?  On the Internet connection goto Properties, Advanced, and check "Allow others..." under the Internet Connection Sharing section.

If you can't use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) I would recommend WinGate.  http://www.wingate.com

Yes, for ICS just bring up the properties for your internet connection whether it be dial-up or broadband.

Just set the LAN connection to obtain IP Address Automatically.  XP will do the rest.
