asked on

SP2 and Norton.

Hello,

Can any body tell me if SP2 and Norton antivirus be running at the same time?  Also is there a fast download of SP2 for dialup?  If there is not I will just wait on my SP2 CD in the mail. Also I am  setting up a Zonenet 4 port switching router. Is this a good idea for added security along with the Norton Antivirus?  Am I going to bog down and not be able to get anyhing in or out?
I would apprecaite any and all answers to my question.

Sincerely,

Compucharley

You need to 've the lates datfiels and updates with you if you want to update to sp2,Check
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/sp2/faq.html ( norton web site info abt norton and sp2)

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sp2_whattoknow.mspx
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2.

if you are unable to download it from microsoft site , i'd recommend waiting for the cd to arrive
You could also try dwnldn from http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/9/13-9-177.shtml.

Sorry dont use Zonenet 4 port switching router so am not much aware of it. But might be a case of overkill with norton
,sp2 and all.

I am currently running Norton Internet security with xp pro. sp2, with no problems at all. With the aggressive mal/adware, viruses and all that is out there nowadays, I don't think a person can be to safe, just my opion others may disagree.
SP2 and norton huh :)

gives me the idea to start publishing a new sticker...
Would go like this..

WINDOWS XP SP2....
RUNS LIKE A DOG WITH NORTON!

I'd uninstall pricey Norton and get myself AVG antivirus free edition and to top it up , a Pint of Kerio firewall free edition..
