infrared Connection for Dell Laptop Not Working!!!

I am unable to connect my nokia 6600 to Dell Latitude d505. I am using XP,but it is still not recognising the signal from my cell. Is there any settings to be made in Dell? If so wat are they? need a solution asap.

    Make sure that the IR port is turned on in the system.  It will be off by default.  You have to go into the bios to enable it.  F2 will get you in and you should be able to find that setting.
