Download Oracle Universal Installer

Hi,

I'm looking to download a Oracle Universal Installer shipping with 9.2.0.5 patchset or 10g. I need it because I'm about to install odbc driver for oracle for windows server 2003.
Any idea where I can find it?

I've been to this site already that's supposedly has it: http://metalink.oracle.com/
But I need to register first and it asks for some kind of "Support Identifier", which I have no idea what it is. It also gives a phone number to call if there are problems registering, but that phone number doesn't work.

Any help?

Thanks,

Lily.

You can go to http://otn.oracle.com, select Product Center and look around. Within the last 10 minutes, the ODBC Drivers Download Page might have something akin to what you desire, and it is at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odbc/index.html

Hope this helps.

Hi,

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odbc/index.html - contains information about ODBC drivers. I was asking for Oracle Installer in partucular, 9.2.0.5 patchset or 10g.

http://otn.oracle.com - points me to http://metalink.oracle.com/ - which is the site I'm trying to avoid, because I have problems registering there.

Is there anywhere ELSE i can get the Oracle Installer from?

Thanks,

Lily.

Lily,

Go here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/devlic.html?http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/lite/htdocs/10gwinsoft.html

Accept the terms

Download the zip file and don't install anything

Unzip it and find the setup.exe under Install folder which is the Universal Installer

Hope this helps!

Paquicuba,

I'm not sure if you'll be able to read this, but the installer that you gave is 2.1.0.10.0
I need 2.3.0.5.0a or later. Do you know where to get this?

Thanks,

Lily

Lily,
If you only need to install the ODBC driver, the instant client should do it.
1. Go to:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/index.html
2. Click on "Instant Client for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)"
3. Accept the terms
4. Click on: "instantclient-odbc-win32-10.1.0.2.zip"
5. Installation Steps:

a. Download the appropriate Instant Client packages for your platform. All installations REQUIRE the Basic package.

b. Unzip the packages into a single directory such as "instantclient".
c. Set the library loading path in your environment to the directory in Step 2 ("instantclient"). On many UNIX platforms, LD_LIBRARY_PATH is the appropriate environment variable. On Windows, PATH should be used.

d. Start your application and enjoy.

Lily,

In case the Instant Client doesn't work, then go to:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/devlic.html?http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/winsoft.html
Accept the terms and download Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.2)
In the install folder, the Universal Installer's about button gives me the following information:
Oracle Universal Installer
Version 10.1.0.2.0 Production
Copyright © 1999, 2004, Oracle. All rights reserved

Please let me know if you were able to install the ODBC Driver

Good luck!
