mouse scroll wheel in dbgrid?

Hi,

Is there a solution for the known bug (i think i should say "bug") in dbgrid
while using mouse scroll wheel to navigate between records in it? You know,
when using wheel, then record pointer keeps its position but virtualy the
grid selection bar jumps other records shown and when it gets the bottom of
the grid it doesn't get more..

any idea?

Thanks

This works for me.  Not sure where I got the code from (sorry)

procedure tfpgt.applicationonmessagehandler(var Msg:tmsg;var handled:boolean);
var
  i:smallint;
begin
if msg.message=WM_MOUSEWHEEL then
  begin
  msg.message:=WM_KEYDOWN;
  msg.lParam:=0;
  i:=hiword(msg.wParam);
  if i>0 then
    msg.wParam:=VK_UP
  else
    msg.wParam:=VK_DOWN;
  handled:=false;
  end;
end;

procedure main;
begin
.
.
.
application.OnMessage:=applicationonmessagehandler;
.
.
.

Spooky isn't it. I just googled for exactly the same solution about 30 minutes ago :-)

You'll get a range check error with the above code if you have range checking enabled, so you may want to do this:

if msg.message=WM_MOUSEWHEEL then
  begin
  msg.message:=WM_KEYDOWN;
  msg.lParam:=0;
  {$R-}
  i:=hiword(msg.wParam);
  {$R+}
  if i>0 then
    msg.wParam:=VK_UP
  else
    msg.wParam:=VK_DOWN;
  handled:=false;
  end;
