Mrxsmb error

I am getting the following error on a machine in the event viewer

Event 3034

The redirector was unable to initialize security context or query context attributes.

Any ideas why I get this on my machine?

Hi sunray_2003,

I have a feeling Sunray's fix will work in your situation but if not you can try some steps from eventid:

Cheers!

Gtimmons, before you jump in at the deep end, what networking problems are you having with your computer and/or network?  I've recently had to address this exact error and had to study it in great detail.  This is together with a few other errors related to AD replication between two domain controllers.

Depending on your environment, it may be safe to simply ignore the Mrxsmb 3034 event.  I'll give you an un-related example....

A domain controller can start-up where it also hosts the domain name server.  It's possible to see a few nasty DNS errors shrown up by Active Directory, but it's a red herring.  AD keeps on trying as well as NTFRS and as soon as the DNS fires up and beggins resoling names to IP addresses, AD and FRS are happy, a event is logged stating that AD has started, NETLOGIN has started and SYSVOL is available and all is happy.
