Using third party add-ins for charting in Crystal Reports

In the process of creating charts in Crystal Reports, numerous difficulties have been encountered.  Is there a charting tool that works with Crystal that can be referenced by a DLL Call?  CR Chart inherits the same problems that Crystal does.
In the past, using Delphi, I have used a third party tool called Gigasoft ProEssentials.  Will this work within Crystal without Delphi?
