asked on

Is this spyware?

Can someone please tell me if the following items listed are considered spyware and if so what negative effects they have on a machine?  No long narratives neccessary just quick bites like "redirector". "pop-ups", "resource hogs" etc.

Smiley Central
Mywebsearch
precision time
weather bug
side show
gator

I just started working at new location and all machines have these programs installed.  Of course all the users are admins of thier XP machines and before I remove these priveleges I need some good talking points as to why.  Thanks.

I have a nickname for spyware... and that is GATOR.

Get your hands on Giant Anti spyware, its even better than Bulletproof's BPS!
Dont even look at Adaware!

to all the Adaware fans out there... try reading before you click "I AGREE".... only then will i listen to you if you try to convince me otherwise.
