CHMOD and perl-script: what mode should I set?

I'm trying to get perl cgi scripts running on my local machine. Perl is installed and I got a script working using "chmod +x hello.cgi".

I'm wondering whether this is save to do? In any directory?

chmod 755 hello.cgi
then I assume that you have appache installed

cp hello.cgi /usr/lib/cgi-bin/

http://localhost/cgi-bin/hello.cgi
