Mixed Domain

The scenario: NT4 PDC, NT4 BDC & Windows 2000 as Member Server.
I have recently installed Win2k3 Server, it can find the Win2k server when I click start/run/win2k_servername. But does not find the NT4 server when I do the same.
All the servers are in the same physical LAN and same subnet.
The error that I get when I try to connect to the NT4 server is "No network provider accepted the given network path".
I may not upgrade the NT4 servers to 2000. Any solutions for this?
1 Solution
1. what about start > run > \\ip of the nt4
2. can you ping the nt4 from 2003?
are you using wins and/or dns?
are there entries for the nt4 servers in dns/wins/lmhost?

5. (you might find the link below helpful
Answer is - This link did not help.
no lmhosts is needed when you use WINS.
did you configure the W2K Server to use the WINS Server?
did you configure the DNS Server to lookup WINS for unresolveable Names?

WeHe can you please tell me how do I do all the things that you asked me as I haven't done any of these. I have put the WINS Server's IP in the WIN2K3 server?
rujsAuthor Commented:
Dear WeHe,
Thanks for the help provided.
I had to reinstall the Win2K3 server though to get it in the domain. All I did was I had WINS information added to the server without the gateway or DNS.
Thanks once again.
