Problem with installing Logitech Quickcam express 8.0 on laptop, incomplete data in driver .inf

Installing Logitech Quickcam express on a Fujitsu P5010. Software installs fine, but when plugging in camera get the error message "an error occured during the installation of the device, the required section was not found in the inf"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled software several times. Have used a reg cleaner to clean the reg and have also cleaned manually using the find key. reinstalled after this still same problem. Have unisntalled pagemaker 6 which I thought might be causing conflict , no luck. I have a second Fujitsu P5010 and the camera works brilliantly on this, so clearly there is a problem with my driver .inf file. I have downloaded the software again from Logitech and installs no problem, but I still keep getting the error message. Can u help??

    Accepted Solution

First install the software and driver and then plugiin the device.
Do you have windows xp ?

Have you tried to manually install the driver after hooking the camera instead of allowing windows to search for the driver ?

Try to disconnect the computer from internet and then try to install. Sometimes windows might be trying to get the driver or software from the windows update page.

Instead the driver CD, do you see an INF file. Copy that file to desktop and when you manually install the driver, point to that.

Also have you ever made this camera work on this computer or this is the first time
