Needing Direct Download Link for Generic 56K Modem Drivers

Hi Everyone:

It is my understanding that generic 56K modem drivers may be used in instances in which the actual drivers for a modem can not be found.  Tomorrow, I will be going over to a friends house to address a variety of different computer issues with one being modem drivers.  With that point in mind, I am interested in any link to gereric 56K modem drivers which can work with a variety of different modem chipsets.  The modem fits into a pci slot as opposed to an AMR slot.

        Thank you

        George

Not really true - depends on the type of modem.  If it's a WinModem (as I believe most are nowadays), then generic drivers won't help. If it's a modem that has it's own processor, then you can likely use a generic driver.  Though Windows should include such a driver "Standard Modem" or something similar.

Hello George =)

And i think that if the OS is WinXP, then XP must have all the necessay drivers for this modem, as XP has a variety of most of the modem drivers :)
