powerpoint 2003 text over video

I have ppt2003. When I run a movie video etc I would like text to appear over the movie as if the movie is running in the backgroud. when I do this the text disappears. I tried grouping front to back but it always vanishes. How can I use a movie as a background and have my presentation out in front? This movie is mpeg2.

Hello cireffoh =)

Im afraid you cannot do it,,,, there are other softwares available which can do this job, but powerpoint has no such option available AFAIK :)

"Q. How do I put text over the playing movie in PowerPoint?
A. To our knowledge you cannot. In PowerPoint, you can take a still of part of the movie and put text over that. But if you want the movie to be playing with text over it, you need to use software that is designed for churches, such as Media Shout or Sunday Plus."

Good Luck =)

In PowerPoint, movies are "active" objects which play over anything else in the presentation even if they are stacked behind in order on the slide.

You might want to import the movie in a video editing applications like Windows Movie Maker, add your text on the movie - and then render that to a movie format again before inserting it in PowerPoint.
