getting this error and i know that that sp is in my database.     can it be a name conflict?  i have the same sp in another database

    Nope, it means the stored proc is not there.  It could have been dropped, or you could be in the wrong database.  Hopefully your in the wrong database.  Use the following command to change databases.

    use databasename

    where databasename is the name of the database you want to be in.

    The name sholudn't be an issue, providing the db is not corrupt which I would very much doubt, its likely to be something simple

    1) Check you are connected to the correct database (seems silly but just to make sure)
    2) Double check that it does exist
    3) Check that dbo is the owner of the procedure

    and thats about it
