epson stylus color 300 showing errror in windows ME

hi every one,
               i hav epson stylus color 300 printer and had been using last 2 years in windows me OPERATING SYSTEM...now suddently it showing an error message that "EPDSPLR4.EXE"  not found and giving warning to  restart the computer..i thought its missing of driver file so that i download the driver file from 'cnet.asia.com' .   this site shows minimum software requirement is win3.1/9x.after setup this driver file printer start to work but the problem is, its not printing what i say ...for example if i write down anything in word and press print button it prints some numbers andsome letters like garbage values(datas)...so plz help me to solve this problem....

Looks like you have a bad driver. Uninstall the printer completely and download the drivers from Epson directly.

If that doesn’t work your printer cable might be the problem.

Most often when I’ve seen garbage print from an Epson its usually software related (drivers)

Also check bios setting.

An easy way of checking the printer and cable is to install it on another computer and seeing if it works. Use xp if possible , drivers are built in, if not use the one listed on the Epson site.

If it doesn’t work on another computer I would suspect main logic board. In that case buy a new printer!
