Windows XP SP2 Installation Problem

I have been trying to install Windows Service Pack 2 on one of our computers and i have been getting the following error message

Windows Service Pack 2 Cannot Install

the product key used to install Microsoft Windows may not be valid. For more information about why you have recieved this error messagel, and the steps to take to resolve this issue visit

All the other computer see to be fine and the installations went without a problem.

I am assuming from this message that there is a problem with the licence key. It should be valid. Can anyone please explain why i should be getting this error message, how Microsoft thinks its an invalid key and what i can do to resolve the issue

Many thanks

Hi gisvpn,
here's a post from the following thread,
"This error is displayed on machines where the product key that has been used to install Windows is known to be used heavily on pirated versions of Windows XP. Service Pack 2 will not install, if you wish to check if your product key is genuine visit
Product IDs that matches one of the following (where X is any numeric value): XXXXX-640-0000356-23 XXX or XXXXX-640-2001765-23 XXX will be blocked from installing the service pack as they were blocked from Service Pack 1 (Click here for how to view your product id). If you have brought what you believe to be a legal version of Windows go back to where you purchased it and ask for a legal product key."
