text file and memo field... vb6

I wonder if a text file can handle memo field or there is a limitation like 255 characters.

I just tested writing 496 characters to a text file with no problem. Then tried 990 characters with no problem so there appears to be no limit.

Further testing I was able to write 11,908 characters, so I don't think there would be a problem with the length of a memo field.
