error message "the remote procedure call failed"

Running Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2000 the arror message above appears when trying to create a new email. I can click around in outlook opening contacts or appointments or emails however as soon as I try to save a new contact or do a new email I get either the error above or a network error.

The fault occurs on several machines however all of these machines are accessing other resources on the same server without problems.

Hi rhedley,

Not sure what could be the actual cause but since it is happening in all machines possibly the error is in the exchange server.
Did you change anything or update the exchange server.

Can you delete the exchange server account in Outlook in one machine , create it again and check .

Are you using a different custom form in outlook to save contact or create a new email ?

Is the error and behavior same in all machines ?
