Windows 2003 File Server / Client Computers Freeze when accessing files from the server / opening or saving the files.

Dear All
I have a windows 2003 Server DC the only DC i have
All clients are Windows XP Pro SP2 whenever any client accesses the file server some times it is ok sometimes it freezes the clients this is not limited to specific files or folders this happens with any file or folder.

I have updated to latest service packs the dns settings are fine and all the other stuff is ok i have tried running basic systems check, etc.  But it does not help can u please advise what is the problem.

Not Sure whats going on

first thing I would try is to turn off the fire wall on workstation and see it that helps.

do have current updates on the server
