windows explorer:

You can get most images from images.google.com
just type in what you're looking for and it finds them!
If you are searching for the icon's on your system itself then it depends.
Most icons are implemented into the executable.

For instance on the IE icon:
It's probably is sitting into iexplorer.exe (do search to locate the exact location onto your system, probably  into the windows map)

The same goes for the Windows explorer and the other XP icons you wish to find.
That's about starting icons.
Lots of other XP icons are situated just into the system32 folder into the *.dll files.
