We have several servers all running Arcserve 9 with tape backups of the data running overnight. Every morning we are currently manually logging into every server to check the status of each backup check. My question is can this information be produced automatically by enabling Alert Manager?
I've created a mail-enabled service account in Alert Manager on the majority of our servers, but can I use this to email details of the overnight tape backup jobs we have running and, if so, how?
The information we need is:
1/ The success or otherwise of the nightly backup job
2/ The amount of data backed up
3/ The number of errors/warnings produced
I'm assigning a top points score on this as it would save us a lot of hassle in the long run! Any ideas would be greatfully received.
