Which media type is the DVD itself? DVD+R or DVD-R?

You said you had Nero.  Put the disc into the drive you burnt it with and open nero's Info Tool. Click on "Disc" and you should get info on what type of media is inserted.

Nice, info tool is very helpful. This media is DVD-R, my dvd room supports it, so, any idea why it can not read it?

filesystem is ISO9660.

Use TDK dvds if you want to read it in other drives that the one where you created. Or you may try a newer dvdrom drive (try Plextor), because that one seems old (the newest dvdrom drives sipport +r and -r).

all you are right, i tryed dvd-r and dvd+rw with the same result (error).
but i still think that should be a way to write this old format, because there are some old drives still around.

this one is 10x dvdrom and 40x cdrom: not too bad...

crissand: why TDK? does this media have some special feature?

i'll be doing some research before closing this.

Thanks a lot.
TDK has the best media, there are benchmarks and tests that prove this. I never had problems with tdk media.
