Websense & ISA

Hi there,

Am not good with ISA at all, and have it installed with websense but not working as Network agent not picking up IP.....

We have 3 switches, a watchguard firebox and i need to implement Websense to monitor internet, ideally all traffic to flow through the ISA server (with no rules) would like to use the ISA server to simply pass traffic through, and have Websense filter/monitor it.

At the moment have isa server plugged into one of switches and network agent on another server and traffic being pushed using WPAD, not sure if this is correct or not any advise would be great.

Would it make sense to stick a switch between firwall and the main switch and ONLY have the isa server plugged in? Or actually connect the firewall to ISA server, and then ISa server to switch/network?

Any help would be fab as this is doing my head in!!!!

Thanks

Most people like using the ISA as a proxy where the ISA sits on the internal side of the firewall.    Have the firewall configured so that only the ISA's IP address is allowed outbound access through the firewall.  Hence all client traffic must traverse the proxy or it is blocked at the firewall.

Now you can add websense  to the ISA server and you are off and running.
