Fading Slide Show with multiple images displayed simultaneously

Hello,

Can anybody reference me to some code that will allow me to create a slide show of multiple images simultaneously displayed that fade out to a new set of images?  Or at least explain how to do it.

For example, I would like to have a slide show that does this:

Fade in to   Image1 - Image2 - Image3
Fade out
Fade in to   Image4 - Image5 - Image6

and so forth.

Thanks for your time!!

Sounds like Flash would be a better solution for you!
Or using this free utility:
http://www.handyarchive.com/Multimedia/Flash-Design/6245-MyShow.html

Cross Browser compliant Fade Effects:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm

Maybe the above can be altered in such a way to produce the result you are wanting.

Good Luck, Hope this helps!

[Webinar] Kill tickets & tabs using PowerShell

Are you tired of cycling through the same browser tabs everyday to close the same repetitive tickets? In this webinar JumpCloud will show how you can leverage RESTful APIs to build your own PowerShell modules to kill tickets & tabs using the PowerShell command Invoke-RestMethod.

These are all good examples - some way over my head because of my inexperience with Flash.  However, I don't believe that they allow me to show several images at one time side by side then fade into the next several images side by side and so forth.  All of the tutorials I've ever seen only display one image at a time.

Thanks,

Are you looking for a code which shows multiple images at a time then fade and shows another set of images? If so, you can just use photoshop and make a set of image in one file then 2nd, 3rd and so on. After that you can use the above suggestion and place the image.

In photoshop edit the picture like your arrangement :

IMG 1 -  IMG 2 - IMG 3 ---> replace and make a single picture in photoshop
so on....

rsdn,

Yes, that's exactly what I want to do.  I thought about doing it in photoshop like you've suggested but wasn't sure that it was the best solution.

However, I've noticed sometimes when I place an image on a background, it sometimes dilutes the quality of the image - Especially in Fireworks MX.

Also, what about if I want 3 pictures to display side by side but I want each one to fade into another and then fade into the next set of 3 pictures, etc.?

Thanks!

For these effect you need to put additional action script in flash. I am not good in action script that's why you may notice I asked the similar question in flash area. But if you want 3 images together fade in next set ( 3 images), then you can use the source code and tutorial which I posted above. What you need is just make 3 images together in 1 single image by photoshop. After that all the tutorials and code will be the same.

The source code that you're referring to, is that the source code that is provided in the flash tutorial? or some place else?

Thanks,

It's the source code of the tutorial which I accepted as an answer. The source code link is this :

http://www.geocities.com/vickerleung/image_fader.zip

The action script code is already posted in the step by step tutorial, so this source code is not so important but you can take a look how it works. He used some blank image with colors.

Ok, great I'll try it out in the next few days as I get time.  I just hope with me being a newbie in Flash that the tutorial is very comprehensive.

Thanks for all your help!
