sbs 2003 connection issues

I have a network with the following:

1-sbs 2003 standard server

4- win xp pro workstations

The problem is after leaving the system on all night nobody can access the server without resetting there system, afterwards they have no problems.

They either cannot find the network connection and once got a security message (they dob't remember of course)

I checked all power management,  all is disabled including the network cards.

One other note, when they reset the workstations  they keep having to turn on norton's internet security portion of the software the AV portion has not had any issues and stays on.

Any ideas?

    Accepted Solution

I'd disable nortton internet security on the workstations. There's a good chance it's actually stopping the workstations from accessing the server.

I don't believe there is any reason to run a personal firewall on a properly patched internal business network.
