why you dont compile yourself??? is better and secure

when you configure the package you need to do this

    ./configure  xxxxxxxxxxx --enable-cache-digests --enable-delay-pools
    make install

or if you need full configure

    ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/squid/ \
    --bindir=/usr/local/sbin  --enable-delay-pools\
    --sysconfdir=/usr/local/etc/squid \
    --datadir=/usr/local/etc/squid \
    --libexecdir=/usr/local/libexec/squid \
    --localstatedir=/usr/local/squid \
    --enable-removal-policies="lru heap" \
    --enable-auth="basic ntlm digest" \
--enable-basic-auth-helpers="NCSA PAM YP MSNT winbind" \
    --enable-digest-auth-helpers=password \
    --enable-external-acl-helpers="ip_user unix_group wbinfo_group winbind_group" \
    --enable-ntlm-auth-helpers="SMB winbind" \
    --enable-async-io --with-pthreads \
    --enable-storeio="ufs diskd null aufs" \
    --enable-snmp \
    --enable-ssl \
    --enable-htcp \
    --disable-http-violations \
    --disable-ident-lookups \
    --enable-useragent-log \
    --enable-arp-acl \
    --enable-err-languages="English " \
    --enable-default-err-language="English" \

    Accepted Solution

No you cant do this in a RPM. rpm is a compile package with compile options. try adding delay_pools 1 to squid.conf file but in the RPMS nobody include the delaypools. sorry but you need to install from source.

I am sure that Squid is built without delay_pool in RedHat 9. If you want to check that yourself, just uncomment delay_pool lines in your squid.conf and [re]start your squid. There will be some lines in the log file saying that delay_pool is not enabled.
