cws.smartsearch.2 and highjackthis log file

Hello,

I have cws.smartsearch.2 on my computer. In searching for the fix I've found that several people have uploaded hijackthis log files to have someone walk them through the process. I was hoping to be able to understand what was wrong so that I could fix it without being walked through but it looks like each case may be different.  Could somebody please walk me through?

Here is my log file from running hjt.

Hello laylow =)

First, now u can Post the logs at this site >> http://www.hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english
and it will automatically analyse it for u,,, Fix the entries which it labels as Nasty :)
To Fix, check the lines in Hijackthis scan and click on Fix Checked !!

HJT Log Tutoriol >> http://aumha.org/a/hjttutor.php

CAUTION: Before fixing the entries in hijackthis, make sure that they are really Nasty and can be deleted, better u first research for it on Google and then when u will confirm that they shud be deleted, Fix them. And whenever u run Hijackthis, run it from a New folder on ur desktop, so that in case of any problem, u can take advantages of its created backups of fixed items. And in case if u still face problems in dealing with it, just analyse ur log at the above site, and then scroll down where u will see a Save Analyse button, hit it and it will save ur Log Analysation, then copy the link of that page and paste it here, and we will check it for u :)

Second, plzz use msconfig to untick unwanted progrmas as described here >> http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
Then Download these latest version of the removal tools and install them:

AdAware ==> http://www.spychecker.com/program/adaware.html
SpyBot  ==> http://www.spychecker.com/program/spybot.html
CoolWebShredder ==> http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/10/17/10-17-150.shtml

Then Run all of them one by one in safemode and delete everything they detect.
Then delete the temporary internet files and history of IE
and run Disk Cleanup on ur hard drive to delete those temp and junk files.
Restart back in Normal Mode to check for the problems now ?? :)

Thanks,

I think this is what I was looking for.  I followed all the directions and used all the tools and I think it amy be fixed but I'm not 100% sure.  I'm suspicious because my computer still acts a little funny.  If I try to open a new IE window it takes about 1 minute to open up.  My home page is about:blank so it should open up almost instantly.  Also, I still get a DSO exploit  in Spybot.  I don't think the DSO exploit is a problem.  The hjt analyzer says I should get rid of "running process. (nslsvice.exe) Malware" but no one else seems to have a problem with it and I think it could be a part of Novell or Lotus Notes.

Here is my new HJT log file.

yeah if u are using Novell then its realted to this :)
and delaying of IE can be realted to those so many running programs in background... and im sure that if u will try to open it in safemode(just to test) it will come up instantly... right ?? :)
