verizon connectivity problems

I am trying to connect to my verizon dsl service but it keeps tellling me that it cannot reach the server.  I had the sasser worm and it has been removed and I used winsock to fix the tcp/ip stack but it still cannot connect.  Could there be another virus that is preventing connectivity.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try the following:
1. Remove Verizon software
2. remove TCP/IP from your Network properties
3. reboot your computer
4. install TCP/IP again.
5. reboot your computer
6. install Verizon software back

You might need your original Windows CD installation to perform step 4.

Please install some good antivirus as soon as possible to avoid many other problems
and make sure that this antivirus will be updated over internet all the time.
