There are some things that you can do using poweruilder and some things which you cannot. If u r using composite dws thats how its gonna look. Thats the functionality of PB.Your problem was "But automatically the preview of the main report changes to a page layout with breacks. but i want it to display without page break"
The answer is using nested reports its not possible using Powerbuilder which is what i've answered. If you dont reply to the resposne how are we supposed to know u still needed more info. The reason other experts didnt reply is cos they know my answr was a valid one cos thats how PB functions.

if you've selected more than two reports in one ( composite/nested ) then the report by default is displayed
in the print preview mode. This is how powerbuilder works. When you are saying "he preview of the main report changes to a page layout with breacks" i assume you are seeing a blue link bordering the edges of the page , if so, thats the default display and theres no other way for it.
