SID change on Windows 2003 domaincontroller possible?

Is it possible with for example NEWSID to change the SID of an Windows 2003 domaincontroller? Or must the domaincontroller being reinstalled from scratch after the SID change?

    i would not do this with a DC, as the SID is a essential Part in a Domain.
    But i never tried to do something.

    I'd demote the DC first then change the sid, the re-promote it.
    You can run a SID changer against a DC but don't expect it work work with the domain if you do as it's a vital id for the domain.
