ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE
Hello,
I'm installing Oracle 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.11. During the last phase (DB config
assistant) of the
install I've got an error saying that it's not connected to Oracle:
"ORA-03114: not connected to Oracle"
The only options that I have on the popup window is "Ignore or Abort" and
it fails to create init DB.
Any advices. Thanks.

Before removing the database you might want to take look at the logs. This error is like ORA-600 only for connections. You can also try trace listener and client (listener.ora and sqlnet.ora).
You can usualy get this error when some parameters in DBCA is incorrect and instance can not be started. That is why I recomended to take look at the logs. There is usually nothing to delete in this case.
